It's Summertime!

Memorial Day Weekend has come and gone but the warm weather is here to stay. It's definitely Summertime here in the 505. I have the sunburn to prove it!

In between packing and getting ready for the big move (more on that later), we had an enjoyable weekend hanging out with friends and soaking up some sun.

Addy's first trip to the pool was just thrilling as you can see. I'm so jealous of her ability to nap just about anywhere.

"What do you think of my new shades?"

All dressed up for church in one of her new summer outfits.

Her new shades were a huge hit at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

"Playtime" with Cousin Carter is always fun. He's such a cutie pie and such a good sport about hanging out on a pink blanket.

They are going to be best friends! He's the only boy Addy's allowed to talk to.

We celebrated Memorial Day with a good ole American cookout and sand volleyball. Addy and I got our tan on while Matt hit the ball around.

Is that hat not the cutest thing ever?

Carter wasn't a huge fan of the wind, it messes up his hair do.

Happy Memorial Day!

I'm headed back to work tomorrow and will be apart from my girl for the first whole day of her life. It's only temporary but I'm not looking forward to leaving her. Thankfully, we are blessed with sweet family and friends who live near by and don't mind helping out while I finish up my job. After that, I will be employed full time as Addy's Mommy!

What did you do this weekend? Hope you had a good one!

3 Years

May 25th, 2008
Matt and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary last night.
Guess what we got each other.....

The exact same card!

"You're the one who...
knows my stories
gets my jokes
warms my feet
takes my side
ignores my quirk
finishes my sentences
soothes my worries
You're the one who
makes all days better
and even makes me
a better me."

Isn't that sweet?

I was even thinking as I was signing his that the colors looked a little girly and maybe it was meant to be given to a girl. Matt was thinking along the same lines because he thought some of the wording sounded weird coming from a man. I guess we really can finish each other's sentences.

Besides getting a good laugh from our card exchange, we enjoyed a nice dinner at the Taj Mahal Indian restaurant followed by a treat at Coldstone while Addy stayed home with Grandma.

We Love the Boppy!

Looking for a great baby shower gift? Let me recommend the Boppy, it's more than just a nursing pillow.

This versatile pillow is a favorite in the Danner household.

The Boppy was a huge asset while Addy was in the hospital and we were both learning the basics of breast feeding.  In between feedings, Matt and I would take turns sleeping on it. We almost bought another so that we would each have one.

Now, it's one of Addy's favorite places to hang out.

She can watch TV with Daddy

Stare out the window for hours

Practice holding her head up

Or take a little cat nap

Everyone sleeps better on the Boppy!

It's perfect for playing peek-a-boo...

Or just lounging around

Yep, we love the Boppy!

Disclaimer: This is not a paid advertisement. I will not receive anything from Boppy for this post. This is what happens when you have a bunch of random pictures and nothing to do with them :)

Addy is 2 Months Old!!

Miss Adelyne turned two months old on Monday. We celebrated with a trip to the pediatrician where Addy got her two month shots.

She's slowly getting bigger!

The appointment actually wasn't as bad as I had expected. Addy took those shots like a champ, and I'd say I held up pretty well too. It helps to not look. I might have shed some tears a couple hours later when Addy woke up screaming though. Poor thing must have been in a lot pain because she wouldn't even eat!

 Such a happy baby!

The good news is she is gaining weight and growing, which makes this momma feel much better, especially after the doctor was a little concerned at her last visit.

She's longer than Mr. Monkey now

At two months, Addy weighed in at 8 pounds, 4 ounces and 22 inches. I don't really mind when people comment on how little she is anymore because I know she is happy and healthy.

That Mr. Monkey, he's so funny!

Besides being more and more alert, smiling and cooing all the time, our most recent milestone is sucking on the hand. She found it one day and decided it tasted really good and comes in handy when her pacifier can't be found. Another exciting moment came when we put her in her newborn sleeper and discovered she could no longer stretch out her legs in them. She wore a 3 month sleeper last night and it fit her perfectly! She is changing everyday. Even her cry sounds older.

Addy continues to melt out hearts with each smile. We can't wait to see what she will do next!

An Eventful Weekend in the 575

We pulled into the 505 this morning at 6:30 am after an eventful weekend spent in Las Cruces with my family. It seems like we are always celebrating something and this weekend was no different. We started the weekend off right with a brunch to celebrate Nicole graduating with her Master's in Education.

Nicole and Perry

Miss Addy in her cute blue outfit and bow that I made for her

It was a beautiful sunny morning, perfect for sitting out on the patio, but a bit warmer than we are used to in Albuquerque.

We got to visit our Alamador where both Matt and I graduated. Go Aggies!! This was the most painless graduation I've ever attended. After Nicole received her degree, instead of heading back to her seat, she just kept walking right out the door. We of course, quickly followed, thankful to not have to watch the remaining 200 hundred people walk across the stage.

The Graduate, so proud of you Aunt Nic!

Cute couple by the duck pond, how come I never hung out there when I was in school? It's so pretty!

On Saturday night, we attended the rehearsal dinner for our good family friends who were getting married the next day at our favorite restaurant, Lorenzo's. Yum! In between events and Addy's feedings, we were able to squeeze some family hang out time in. We skipped church the next day and had a low-key Mother's Day celebration with pizza and cupcakes.

Addy loves to talk to Uncle Perry

 Happy Mother's Day Mamaw!

To wrap up our fun filled weekend, we attended a beautiful wedding held in our good friends backyard. The whole thing was just lovely! Not only did the grooms parents host close to 100 people in their home, but his Dad also led the ceremony.

 Such a cutie!

 BEAutiful!

Phew! It was a fun weekend but it's going to take us a couple days to recover. These things are just a little bit more exhausting with a newborn, but super fun.

P.S. What do you think of my little blog makeover?
