It's Official!

It's official! Matt is now licensed to practice law in the state of New Mexico.

We drove up to Santa Fe yesterday for his swearing in. He was motioned in by my cousin who has been an attorney for a couple of years. After each prospective attorney was named, they all stood and said "I do" to the oath. Then, the members of the New Mexico Supreme Court gave some words.

Each new lawyer got to sign the "Roll of Attorneys", which goes back to the 1800's.

Mr. and Mrs. Esquire

After the ceremony, we celebrated with lunch at the Shed. There was much to be celebrated that day!

Addy is a Month Old!

Our sweet baby girl turned a month today

A day after her little cousin, Carter Grey Wingerd was born. Unfortuneately, I don't have photos, but we are so excited he's here

This past month has, of course, gone by quickly

Our lives have changed dramatically but we wouldn't have it any other way

She has us wrapped around her little finger

It's a little surreal that we are now a family of three but hard to imagine life without her
She loves to snuggle on Mommy's shoulder and watch golf with Daddy

Her facial expressions are priceless and keep us laughing

We are looking forward to many more wonderful months spent with our sweet girl!

Esquire

Allow me to introduce you to my husband, the Esquire.

Matthew Adam Danner, Attorney at Law.

That's right ladies and gentlemen, Matt passed the Bar!!!!

We found out yesterday just as we were about to eat lunch. I had just put Addy down as Matt ran in and said those two words I had been dying to hear, "I passed!"

We celebrated with grilled cheese, tomato soup, chips, a bottle of champagne and maybe a few tears of joy.

Thanks to everyone who prayed and offered words of encouragement as Matt spent two months studying and another month waiting for results. God is so good to us!

Over the River and Through the Woods

My Mom celebrated her birthday last week so we took the opportunity to get out of the house, get some help from the grandparents and surprise my Mom for her birthday. Off to Grandma's house we went!

Ready to hit the road to Grandma's house. Her legs look so funny in this photo.

Addy did great on the 3 hour car ride down to the LC. She loves her car seat and falls asleep as soon as we start moving. We did have to stop to feed her at a rest stop about 30 minutes outside of town but that was because of poor planning on our part.

How sweet is this? Snuggling with Uncle Perry in her new PJ's

Besides going out for my Mom's birthday dinner and going to church, we were able to relax and spend some quality time with my family.

Hanging out with Mamaw, Addy's Great Grandma

Spread out on Mamaw's lap

You know your relaxed when you fall asleep with your hand out like that

Sweet Miss Julie came to visit

4 Generations: Great Grandma, Grandma, Mom and Addy

Hanging out with the Chief

Such long legs!

Addy loves to hang out in the mornings by a window where it's nice and bright. She is playful and alert for almost two hours before she falls asleep again. I love these precious times.

She loves hanging out with Uncle Perry but was so bummed that Aunt Nic had to study all weekend

The best sleep is in Grandma's arms

What a little sleepyhead

Sleep Deprivation

The upside of having Adelyne in the hospital for a week was that we were able to learn how to care for her through the helpful nurses and doctors and by the time we got home, she was on a great schedule. It was almost like we brought home a very reliable alarm clock that goes off every 3 hours... even at night.

2 O'clock in the morning isn't so bad with this cutie pie

Feeding every three hours, changing diapers and consoling a fussy baby all hours of the night has left us a little sleep deprived. When we do manage to get a couple hours of shut eye in between feedings, we sleep hard. We've been sleeping so hard that we have both been a little delirious.

This was after her 8 O'clock feeding. I think she is going to be a morning person

Just the other morning Matt got up carrying the pillow he sleeps with under his arm. Thinking it was Addy, he walked into the nursery and almost tucked the pillow into the crib. Thankfully the light was on and he came to his senses.

 So cute!

I woke up one night, walked over to Matt's side of the bed and told him I would take her. He kindly let me know that she was in her crib. Almost every time I get out of bed to go feed Addy, I feel like I am turning her over in the covers. The worst was probably when I heard her crying and thought I was holding her, but when I got up, I couldn't find her anywhere in the covers. I was frantically searching for her in between the sheets when I woke Matt up. Once again, he told me she was in her crib, which I didn't believe at first but wouldn't you know it, I walked into her room and there she was! Then I wondered how she got there.

 Little stinker

We're going to throw a small party when she drops her first feeding, after we make sure she is still breathing. Until then, I'm going to take a nap.
