What Addy Wore {Spring Edition}

There's nothing cuter than a little girl in a cute spring dress right?

Matt and I have both been enjoying dressing Addy this spring season and we just keep finding more and more cute things!

So, I thought I'd do another "What Addy Wore" post while I still have control over what she wears and since I've got to do something with all these pictures.

You can check out what she wore last fall here.

Shirt: Target
Shorts: Kohl's (Handpicked by Matt)
Shades: Children's Place

Skirt: Handmade by Addy's Momma
Shirt: Hobby Lobby, Flowers Added by Addy's Momma

Same outfit, different hairstyle.
Bows: Target Clearance

Hat and Shades: Purchased at the Children's Place on a Daddy/Daughter outing

Shirt: Target
Skirt: Handmade by Addy's Momma

Dress: An Easter Gift from Gran

Shirt: Target
Skirt: Babies R Us (She's been wearing this skirt for a year, the girl has no butt)
Shades: Children's Place

Having a little girl sure is fun and at almost 8 months pregnant, I'm feeling a little envious of her tiny figure and all the cute things she's able to wear. Maybe someday, we'll be able to share clothes?

Snow

It snowed in Albuquerque last week; dark, gray clouds and big flurries and actually stuck. The sun came out for a little while just after nap time and Addy and I got to go play.

"Pishas" of Addy

Addy and I had some free time the other day in which we really didn't know what to do with ourselves. We wandered around the house for a good 15 minutes until I decided it would be fun to take some fall photos of Miss Adelyne in her "hipster" outfit.

I went old school and got out my real camera; nothing special just a point and shoot that's maybe a step above my camera phone.

As I was taking pictures, Addy grabbed my phone, held it up and said "Pishas, Pishas!" and tried to take pictures of me taking pictures of her. It was super cute!

She only managed to take one picture which was my blurry foot, but she was super proud of herself.

Yesterday I saw a commercial for Nikon which said something like: "Just because your phone has a camera doesn't mean the photos are worth sharing." It featured a bunch of blurry camera phone photos. I am so guilty of that! But the pictures from my phone are just as good as my other camera so why bother with the other one?

So, here are the photos I ended up with. I am definitely not going to quit my day job anytime soon to take up photography but I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out. I love how they just capture Addy in this season; her love for pumpkins, or "balls" as she calls them and the way she is looking off into the distance, probably just watching a passing car but that's how she's learning and growing. Her world is getting bigger and bigger everyday.

Outfit Envy

I've been having a lot of fun dressing my toddler in cute fall outfits and even feeling a little envious of some of them, wishing I could pull them off. Since I'm not quite as creative with my own wardrobe and will probably never do a "What I Wore Wednesday," here's a "What Addy Wore" post!

This cute sweater is actually a dress that she wore last year. The hat was a great find at the Children's Place for only $3.

For the most part, she's a pretty good sport about me taking her picture, but this Sunday morning, she was not having it. I found both the sweater dress and the shoes ($1) at the Mommy's Market consignment sale. The flower in her hair was from her Auntie Morgan.

This jacket was another great Mommy Market find. I think it makes her look like a chef!

This is my favorite; pig tails and rain boots.

This outfit was a gift from Grandma Ree. Addy likes to take the boots off and their pretty much impossible to get back on, but that's OK because they are adorable. This picture doesn't show their adorableness well.

She's starting to become more aware of her clothes and accessories. Yesterday she showed off her new boots to the postman and she loves to dress all her stuffed animals and baby dolls. At some point, I'd love to get her a little dress up box to fill up with old clothes for her and her animals. Maybe for Christmas?

Mommy/Addy Date

Sometimes, It's hard to be content. Sometimes I get too wrapped up in busyness, in projects and schedules that I forget how great my life really is and how much I have been blessed.

The week before last, we were super busy, it seemed like we had something going everyday, which was fun but Addy and I were both tired at the end of it. So, this last week, I decided we would take things slow, no play dates and no huge projects that required a million errands. Play group was cancelled that week so on Friday, since I didn't have a huge list of things to get done, I decided to take Addy to the Aquarium and Botanical Gardens.

We had a great time and it ended up being one of those days where I just felt content and happy; so happy to be spending the day outside with my little lady.

After a quick tour of the aquarium, Addy wasn't that into the fish, we headed over to the Gardens where Addy ate her sandwich in front of the ducks.

I forgot to pack some bread to feed to the ducks so we sacrificed Addy's Cheerios. She didn't seem to mind though.

I'm pretty sure I heard her say: "Hey duck duck!"

Addy's favorite part was the miniature train where she's just tall enough to reach the button that made the Thomas train go.

Here she is, trying to get a glimpse of Thomas through the fence.

There was a bench in the shade were I was able to sit and watch her. She'd turn around and smile and point at something, come get a snack and then she was back to pushing the button.

She pressed that thing over and over again, until Thomas ran off the track! Seriously, he didn't turn once and he was done. Addy turned around with this worried look on face, through her hands up in the air and ran over to me and climbed on my lap. Kids would walk by and say "Oh no! Thomas is broken!" or "What happened to Thomas," and the whole time I was hoping it wasn't Addy's fault for pushing the button so much.

She's such a sweetie.

Even though I spend everyday with her, little outings like this where it's just the two of us, are some of my favorites.

Addy is 18 Months Old

Miss Adelyne is 18 months old!
Since 18 months is kind of a milestone, I thought it would be fun to get Mr. Monkey out again for a quick photo shoot.

Addy almost always bumps her head on the changing table when she tries to get her stuffed animals out from the bottom shelf. When I asked her to get Mr. Monkey the other day, she patted her head, shook her head no and pushed me in the direction of Mr. Monkey. I guess she didn't want to hit her head again.

Our photo shoot lastest for about a minute and then she was off doing something else. The easiest way to get her picture these days is to sit her in my lap and snap the pic with my iPhone, where she can see herself. She loves it and usually whenever I am sitting on the floor doing something with my phone, she crawls into my lap expecting to take a picture. I have to say that I love this feature on my phone, though, it's a great way to get pictures of the two of us since I'm usually the only one taking photos in the Danner family.

And yes, she has a little bit of a mullet but we've decided that it's a necessary phase if we ever want her hair to have any length.

I've heard that there is usually a large growth spurt around 18 months and Addy is proving that rumor to be true. She has been sleeping a ton, usually 12 hours or more at night, eating a lot (although she still consumes less than most toddlers) and she's out growing all her clothes. The other day, I put her in a dress to go to Bible Study and didn't realize how short it was until we got home. You could see her floral bloomers even when she wasn't bending over. Oops! I'm going to have to get some legging for that kid, pronto! She has great timing though, wouldn't it be nice if all her growth spurts were at the change of the season when we have to buy new clothes anyway?

"Addy, where's Mr. Monkey?"

Sweet girl, she brings so much joy into our lives. It's hard to believe that half a year ago we celebrated her first birthday and in another half a year we will be celebrating her second.

Happy Half Birthday Adelyne!

Addy Says "Hi!" and a Few Other Words

Yesterday, I opened the car door to get Addy out of her car seat, she looked up at me and said "Hi!" I'm not sure if it was the first time she said it, but it was so cute and very clear. It made me think about the other words she says. At 16 months, she doesn't have a long list of words but we're able to communicate pretty well and it seems like she is learning a new word every week. Matt laughs and says it's like we have our own little language, which makes me smile. I love that I am the one around her all day and that I understand better than anyone what she's trying to communicate. Don't get me wrong though, most of the time, I have no idea what she's saying. I'm sure it's probably more frustrating for her than it is for me, but I'm enjoying watching her learn. So, here's a list of words we think Addy says on a regular basis:

"Hi!"
"Wallwas" - All done
"Da-da" - Da-da, Dog and Duck
"Da!" - Dog or Duck
"Ball"
"Ba" - Bear
"Momma"
"Ba-ba" - Bottle
"Ooge!" - George (The Curious one)
"Mmm" - I'm pretty sure this means Cow, or Moo, which is what a cow says.
"Peez" - Please, this one is rare. She learned to sign please, her own version, pretty early on but has since stopped doing it. So, when we tell her to say please, she either kind of says it, or reaches for my hand so I can help her sign it.
"Eyes"

I've probably said this before, but this stage is so much fun.

P.S. Check out Addy's cute 4th of July outfit.

Addy's First Haircut

June was a big month for Miss Adelyne, not only did she drop her morning nap and move to a big girl car seat, but she also got her first big girl haircut!

Matt had trimmed her hair a couple of times, just to clean it up a bit, but we were scared to go anywhere near her bangs. Over the past couple of months, her bangs had been growing and falling in her face and poor thing was having a hard time seeing.

So, after asking around a bit, I finally made an appointment at Jungle Cuts.

Addy freaked out a little at first but with her lovey and snack in hand, she calmed down. That single tear stayed right there on her cheek almost the whole time.

Addy's sweet Auntie Morgan and Carter Boy came along to take some pics.

Ah! I love seeing that pretty face, not hiding behind her bangs.

The new do! It's layered in the back so it doesn't look as "mullletish."

Jungle Cuts is a super cute place, after her haircut, Addy got to pick out a toy.

The ball seemed like a pretty good pick until....

she found the duck, and Addy loves ducks.

Isn't she pretty? And so grown up! Nothing like getting your bangs trimmed to make you look months older :)

Thanks Morgan and Carter for coming along and making the day so special!
