Remington is 2 and a Half Years Old

Today is our little man's half birthday.

He gets older everyday but today seems especially significant because Remi is no longer just two, he's two and a half and to me that's kind of a big deal.

Our two and a half year old is an energetic, busy little guy who never stops talking. He's loud and crazy, always moving and so so funny.

Remi is always ready to lend a hand when his dad is working on a project and he's disappointed when there's no more work left to do.

A fun fact about Remi is that he loves beverages of any kind. A phrase we often hear is: "Can I try some dat?" You can't fix yourself a cup of coffee or enjoy a soda without him asking for some. And if he is lucky enough to actually get to try something, chances are he's going to like it.

After using his sister's tea cups for a few days, he and his dad decided he needed a "man cup." Now, Remi has afternoon tea in his man cup frequently. Doesn't matter if it's hot or cold, the kids loves him some liquid goodness.

He loves to play with his cousins and friends but is sometimes more content to help his momma in the kitchen. (The stove was NOT on in the photo above)

We hadn't planned on potty training until he was closer to three, but a bad case of diarrhea sped our plans up a little bit and Remi has been a rockstar thanks in part to some new Paw Patrol "unders."

"I call them 'unders' cause we got them at the store."

Makes sense.

When he is in unders, I've restricted him to the tile and he's done a great job of following the rules, even though that means he has to watch Paw Patrol from the dinning room. Did I mention that he is a big Paw Patrol fan?

I got to take Remi on a special Christmas Shopping date the other day. He had an idea of what he wanted to get his siblings and his dad and he wasn't to be swayed. He also insisted on carrying the basket the entire time. "I hold it, I strong." He did a great job of keeping his gifts a secret until today at lunch. I started to tell him something when he cut me off….

"I want to tell Addy something."

Ok

"Addy, you can find out on Christmas."

Find out what Remi? Find out what you got me?!?

"I got you a Barbie!"

Yes!

Another thing about Remington, that I've recently learned, is that he's pretty handy with glue. We made snow flake ornaments the other day and to my surprise, he set at the table for a decent amount of time gluing buttons onto his snowflake with little help from me.

I'll end this half birthday update with a funny conversation between Remi and his dad:

Remi, whats your favorite color?

"Boo!"

What's your favorite super hero?

"Spider-man!"

And what do you want to be when you grow up?

"Batman!"

This is a photo from our newborn session with Britton and I think Remi looks especially handsome.

Happy Half Birthday to handsome fella!

Remington is Two Years Old

Remi is two! You can check out what we did to celebrate his birthday here.

Here are his stats:

AGE: 2 years old
WEIGHT: 28 pounds
FAVORITE FOOD: Meat of all kinds and spaghetti
FAVORITE TOY: It seems to change every week, but there is a tiny little ball that came from a gum ball machine at the Dentist and we seem to spend a lot of time looking for it for him. He also really loves his drill from Christmas and all the cars he got for his Birthday.
FAVORITE ACTIVITY: Riding his bike and playing trucks
SCARED OF: Dogs and snakes
DISLIKES:
Favorite Show: Mr. Peabody and Sherman
BEST FRIEND: Addy (of course) and then it's a tie between his cousins, Carter and Everett and his little friend, Juliette.
SILLY TENDENCY: He repeats everything like a little parrot, especially things his sister says. He rolls his rolls and other letters that don't need to be rolled.

Remington{isms}

"Momma, momma, momma… you know that song?"

"You see that cool trick?"

If you sing the lyrics: "Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful boy…." Remi will say:
"That Sherman!"

Remi Turns Two

Our little man turned two years old yesterday and we had the best day celebrating him.

One of my favorite things about Remi's birthday this year was watching Addy love on him. She might have been more excited about his Birthday than he was. It was her suggestion to put candles in his pancakes and she would pump him up for each event happening that day.

Celebrations for Remi's birthday were a little thrown together this year. We've had quite a few things going on and my energy level has been a little low, but I'm so glad we didn't let it pass by without doing anything.

I made arrangements last minute to meet some friends at the Spray Park for pizza and fun. It was busy and hot but if you can't tell by the pictures, I think he had fun.

For birthday dinner, we met Granmarie, Auntie Morgan, Carter and Everett at Zios for "getti." Remi had been talking about wearing a birthday hat all day so his sweet Dad picked some up on his way home as a little surprise.

Remi loves his cousin Carter and was so excited to have him sit next to him at dinner.

I mean, check out this happy kid. He was so easy to please all day and loved being sung to.

Later that night, when he opened his gifts, he would rip open the paper and say "oh! I like it! Tank you, tank you, tank you!"

What a joy to celebrate our little man.
We are so thankful for him and his energetic, happy heart.

And the celebration continues the next day.

Love you Wemibird!

Remi is Almost Two!

This little man has a birthday coming up soon.

In a little over a month, Remington will be two.

These first few weeks of summer and being pregnant have brought back a lot of memories of our summer waiting for him to come. And I have to say, I enjoy having him on the outside my belly much more.

Remi is a typical middle child and so finding pictures and things to say about him are a little bit harder than it was when Addy turned two, but I'm determined to not cut him short. And for some reason, while uploading photos from my phone for this post, I found a lot of him sleeping. He's a good napper and who doesn't love a sleeping baby picture?

Love when he sleeps with his toes like that.

When did he get so long??

Sweet, sick little guy

Remi loves to ride his bike.

"Go fast! Go fast"
His favorite thing is to ride up one driveway and glide down another.
"Do again!"

He has a thing for hats and happens to look pretty adorable in them.

He also loves to be given big boy jobs around the house.
"I got it, I got it….. help me."

Up until this week, he was terrified of the water and wouldn't let go of me, even with floaties on. Now, he loves it and is so proud of how he can float all on his own.

Some other random facts about our Wemibird:

He bounces when he runs
He repeats everything Addy says all.the.time.
When he isn't copying his sister's every word, he's mimicking his Dad's every move

We are so thankful for this silly, playful little guy.

Remington is 18 Months Old

Our big little guy turns 18 months old this month, which is just a little unbelievable right?

I guess it shouldn't be that hard to believe since he no longer does anything like a baby anymore. He's a full on one year old going on four.

Remi has been going through a development spurt. He's growing and changing and saying new words everyday. Although it's hard to see him grow up, it's also really exciting to see him bloom. Matt and I often talk about how far advanced he is compared to Addy at this age and other kids his age without older siblings. Sometimes people will comment on how well he walks or how independent he is and it's all because he has a big sister to keep up with.

This little guy adores his big sister. He's her shadow, literally. He's not content until he's sitting right next to her, sitting exactly as she's sitting. She is his biggest role model and he is her biggest fan always making sure, she gets a snack when he does. It's so sweet to see how he's already looking out for her.

He also loves to wrestle with his Dad, who will throw him on the couch or shoot Nerf guns at him only to have Remi come back saying and signing "more." But if he does get hurt, he always asks his Momma to kiss it away.

So far, we've heard Remi say the following words:
Ah-ee (Addy)
Momma
Dadda
No
Oh
Help (I was pretty excited about this one, no more grunting when he needs something)
Bottle (This is interesting since he never used one, he calls his sippy with milk his bottle)
Side (Outside)
Eez Eez (Please)
Sid (Currently, their favorite show is Sid the Science Kid)
Papa and sometimes we can get a good Gran out of him

For the most part, he can understand most of what we tell him and is good at following direction when he feels like it.

One of the quirkiest things he does that I can think of at the moment happens whenever someone comes home. He is insistent, insistent, on whoever has walked through the door to remove all jackets, scarves, purses and shoes. He's also insistent that they be put on the bench or hung on the hooks by the door.

The other day I came home from an early morning workout at the gym and heard him from his crib. When I went in to get him up, the first thing he did was point at my running shoes and then proceeded to direct me towards the bench.

He will also retrieve my purse for me if he thinks it's time to go, dragging it down the hall.
He's pretty cute and also kind of helpful.
