Happy Happy Birthday Matt!!!

This weekend we got to celebrate this handsome man.

You might recognize him. He's DaDa to this little lady

and hubby to yours truly.

We're probably the luckiest girls in the world to have him in our lives. He treats us like princesses even when we don't deserve it.

So Happy Birthday Matt! We love you very, very much!

Five for Friday

Check out other Friday's here.

1. We got hang out with your co-workers this weekend. It's fun to see how they interact with you.
2. You love Addy so much
3. Sometimes the weight of the responsibility of being a Godly Father gets you down and that's OK. It just means you care
4. We both kind of freaked out at the Bohemian dance scene in Smash the other night
5. We get to celebrate your life this weekend!! I'm so thankful for it.

P.S. I love you :)

P.P.S. If you happened to read this earlier this morning, I really didn't mean to make points 1 and 5 the same. I'm not that lazy :)

Stay Right There While I Get My Camera!

After doing the laundry the other day, I left Addy in the laundry room with one of her toys while I went to get another load of clothes. I heard her crying and when I went to see what was up, this is what I found:

I think she lost her toy in the hamper and when she went in after it, she got stuck. And like the loving mother that I am, I ran to get my phone and snapped a picture before helping her out. Poor thing wasn't too happy about that and it actually wasn't easy getting her out of there.

Then, yesterday, during blanket time, Addy figured out how to turn her toy bin over and climbed on top of it. Once again, like the good mom that I am, I snapped a quick pic before telling her that was a big no no.

Look at that balance! We might have a little gymnast on our hands.

Happy Tuesday Friends!

It's 2 O' Clock, I've finished my work for the day, Addy is still snoring away, I have the window in my office open and I can hear the birds chirping away. It's so pleasant.

I've been sitting here for probably over half an hour with the intention of updating the blog but there's really not a lot going on here in the 505, which is nothing to complain about, but it does leave me without a lot to blog about. And since I probably shouldn't spend all of Addy's nap time staring out the window in a daze, I'll just leave you with this picture from the Target coupon book we got in the mail the other day.

I really don't have a need for the coupons inside but it's been sitting on my desk for days. Those babies are just so darn cute that they make me want to tear out that $1 off coupon and go buy Butt Paste!

Happy Tuesday Friends!

Five for Friday

1. You wanted to take Addy out to lunch for her last Sunday in the nursery
2. You took me out to sushi after I had a rather stressful first day on the job
3. We went to the park after boxing up our sushi due to a rather grumpy, rather loud one year old.
4. On Monday you made plans to go mountain biking on Saturday and then said you shouldn't have made plans that early because you would be too excited the rest of the week
5. You've helped me adjust to my new work schedule but picking up toys, doing dishes and cooking dinner. You're the best!

P.S. I love you :)

Five for Fridays

Happy Friday friends! Isn't Friday just the best? Addy and I walked to the park to meet up with friends this morning and if the wind doesn't pick up this afternoon (fingers crossed!) we might just go out on another walk. We just love this time of year! But enough about us girls, Fridays are all about Matt!

1. I might have been a little distracted at church on Sunday thinking about the handsome man sitting next to me. (That was you of course)
2. I enjoyed giggling with you while watching Modern Family last night
3. I've also enjoyed watching Smash with you. It's fun when we find something we both like
4. I think that if you were as skinny as the guys on that show, that would just be gross. I like you just the way you are.
5. You're going to help me re-organize the office/craft room this weekend, so that I can get the most use out of the space. Thank you! I was feeling very intimidated by that project.

P.S. I love you  :)

This Week...

This week has been kind of weird. We're adjusting to a new schedule and a new routine.

This week, I've been struggling with time management. I've spent more time thinking about when and how I am going to do things than actually doing them.

This week, Addy has not been a fan of bedtime. But even though it's hard to get her to sleep, she has been sleeping great and even sleeping in.

This week, I've been going to yoga and loving it!

This week, I've been thinking about re-organizing our office/craft room, but thinking is about I'll I've been doing. Everyday after I put Addy down for her nap, I walk in there with intentions of starting the re-organization process and then I turn around and walk out.

This week has been busy and I haven't had a chance to post pictures of our Easter weekend until now.

Fun at the Zoo with sweet friends

Happy Birthday Carter!

Happy Birthday Carter Boy!

When people back home, where I grew up, ask me if we like Albuquerque, I quickly respond with "Yes, we love it." And I list off the reasons why and usually the first reason I give is that my nephew, who is a month younger than Addy lives down the street. We get to watch him grow up! We see him on a weekly basis and that's a privilege that not all Aunts and Uncles get.

Tomorrow is his very first Birthday and today we get to celebrate his first year of being alive. How cool is it that on the same weekend we are celebrating the death and resurrection of our saviour, we get to celebrate the life of a sweet little boy? I'm sure there is some symbolism there, but I don't know what it is. I just think it's cool.

So, Happy Birthday to the little boy who used to hate baths, to the giver of forehead kisses and to the most handsome little boy I know!

We are so thankful for your life and so happy to be a part of it.
Happy Birthday Carter, we love you!

4. You hate the cry it out method as much as I do
5. You've been talking about our plans to go to the zoo today all week. I'm excited too!

P.S. I love you :)

Goodbye March, Hello April!

A Toddler....

Well friends, it's official, my little lady has become a toddler. I don't know when it happened but here's how I know that it did indeed happen:

My "baby" plays with babies. Addy received two baby dolls for her Birthday and she loves them! I had no idea, but she has been attached to them ever since we unwrapped them.

She walks or "toddles" everywhere and is no longer content to be held, or stay in one spot.

She wants to be a big girl. Look at how proud she is to be sitting in a chair all by herself.

She can feed herself. She might not be able to use a spoon yet but the only foods she likes are the ones she can control.

She's growing up! And as if that's not enough, we're going to have to move her from the nursery to the "Walker's" class at church soon. I was totally OK with her turning one, but I'm just not ready to send her in there with all those big kids.

Our life is changing and if it weren't for my friends with kiddos older than Addy, I would be totally clueless about this next stage. Most of my day today involved cleaning up after her. I'm quickly learning, as most of you experienced Mom's probably already know, that there are some foods you don't give a toddler because they are just too messy. And you probably also know how easy it is not to clean up a toddler; so much screaming involved!
