"Pishas" of Addy

Addy and I had some free time the other day in which we really didn't know what to do with ourselves. We wandered around the house for a good 15 minutes until I decided it would be fun to take some fall photos of Miss Adelyne in her "hipster" outfit.

I went old school and got out my real camera; nothing special just a point and shoot that's maybe a step above my camera phone.

As I was taking pictures, Addy grabbed my phone, held it up and said "Pishas, Pishas!" and tried to take pictures of me taking pictures of her. It was super cute!

She only managed to take one picture which was my blurry foot, but she was super proud of herself.

Yesterday I saw a commercial for Nikon which said something like: "Just because your phone has a camera doesn't mean the photos are worth sharing." It featured a bunch of blurry camera phone photos. I am so guilty of that! But the pictures from my phone are just as good as my other camera so why bother with the other one?

So, here are the photos I ended up with. I am definitely not going to quit my day job anytime soon to take up photography but I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out. I love how they just capture Addy in this season; her love for pumpkins, or "balls" as she calls them and the way she is looking off into the distance, probably just watching a passing car but that's how she's learning and growing. Her world is getting bigger and bigger everyday.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween has never been my favorite holiday. I don't hate it but I'm not one who plans my costume months in advance either. For the past couple of years, we haven't even dressed up. I must say, though, that having a little one has definitely added some excitement to the upcoming evening.

Yesterday, the Count scanned my groceries and checked me out at the grocery store. This morning Addy and I have the fireplace going and were laughing at Matt and Anne as Will and Kate on the Today show. We will be cleaning a little today and then later making some goodies for a little get together this evening.

We were up a lot last night, (that tooth is taking it's sweet time to come in), but I think it's going to be a good day.

Saturday in the 505

Saturday is such a fun day.

In the Danner household, each weekend is different, but you can usually expect our Saturdays to include:

A little early morning snuggling
A yummy breakfast, usually from one of our favorite local breakfast joints
A little DIYing
Football (of course)
Uninterrupted playtime with this cutie pie

Sweet, sweet smiles

 Plenty of kisses

 A little Daddy/Daughter time

And on this particular Saturday; swinging.

We took Addy to the park today to try the swings for the first time and, as you can see, she loved it.

There was a lot of laughing, from all three of us.
Maybe this will become another typical Saturday activity.

Happy Saturday everyone!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

P.S. Addy's outfit was a gift from a family member. It came in the mail when she only a month old and it looked HUGE. We didn't think she would ever fit into it.
Our little girl sure has grown!

Fall in the 505

Fall has definitely come to our neck of the woods and we're loving it!

This season is different in New Mexico. While most of the country is admiring the changing leaves, we're roasting green Chile and spotting hot-air balloons.

I've said it several times this week, but Fall is really great here in the 505.

It's that wonderful time of year in between the brutally hot summer and the drab of winter.

It's a time for layering, because it's cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon.

It's a time of anticipation and planning for the holidays to come.

And in the past, for my hard-working hubby, it's been a season spent in the law library, studying for tests and counting down the days till graduation. This year is different though, this year we're spending weekends as a family.

We're enjoying lazy Saturdays working on the house and watching football. We're taking adventures to the Balloon Fiesta and experiencing our first Fall as a family of three.

Happy October!

Today is the first day of October and the first day of the Balloon Fiesta.

This is also the first October in 3 years that Matt won't have to spend the weekends studying. We are so excited for this fall.

Addy woke us up early this morning and we watched the balloons come up over our neighbor's house. Then, we walked to breakfast and to a sweet little boy's first Birthday party. I think we walked a total of three miles today.

This was the view on our walk this morning. I live in the coolest place!

We're taking Addy and cousin Carter to see the balloons tomorrow and we're super excited for their first Fiesta together. What fun times!
