Welcome Summertime!

Yesterday might have been the first official day of summer but here in New Mexico, we've been surviving enjoying summer weather for weeks already. With temps already reaching 100, we've been doing any and everything we can to stay cool.

Matt and Addy just finished up 5 weeks of swimming lessons. They would go every Sunday after church and although we felt a little rushed, it was definitely worth it to see that little smile on her face the whole time. She's going to be pretty bummed when she realizes we won't be going this Sunday.

"Look Momma! I do it by mys self!"

We've already had quite a few outings to one of our favorite summer places, the Spray Park. The kiddos seemed to enjoy it just as much as they did last summer.

A group picture is hard to get when there are toys involved. This is Addy with her buddy Sophia and Cousin Carter.

Now that Addy is a little older, and totally rocked at swim lessons, we've been going to the pool at "Granmarie's house" a lot more. With her floaties on, Addy can swim the length of the pool and I enjoy floating on a raft while she takes her nap upstairs. We usually bring our lunch and enjoy a nice picnic in the grass by the pool. Getting to see Gramps and Granmaire on their day off is a nice treat too.

Here I am rocking the swim suite at 35 weeks because that's just what you have to do when your baby is due in July. A big thanks to Miss Crissie for letting me borrow her suite. You are a life saver!

Trips to the Spray park and days spent by the pool; it's a hard life but someone has live it right?

8 Ounces!

Addy had her follow up appointment at the doctor's on Friday and she weighed in at 10 pounds, 10 ounces. She gained 8 ounces in a week! Woo hoo!

Way to put on the weight baby girl!

We can definitely tell that she is quickly gaining weight. Her little cheeks are getting chubbier and she has new rolls on her cute little frog legs. And although she spit up all over my skirt at church yesterday, the medicine seems to be helping with the reflux.

Last week was a rough one, but we made it through. After a fun weekend filled with family and some much needed sleep, Addy and I are feeling rested and ready to take on another week of more frequent feedings. We'll go back to the doctor for another weight check on Friday and hopefully won't have to return until her 6 month check up rolls around.

Thank you all for your sweet words of encouragement last week. What would we do without the support of other moms and helpful friends?

Eat More Chicken!

Yesterday was cousin Cater's 3 month Birthday!

It also happened to be Cow Appreciation Day at Chic-Fil-A. Not being ones to miss out on free chicken nuggets or the opportunity to show off our cute kiddos, we made a little outing out of it. And what a fun outing it was!

Phew! Being a cow is exhausting.

HAPPY 3 MONTH BIRTHDAY CARTER GREY!!

Addy's 4 month Birthday is today and you know what that means... time for our monthly photo session! Come back tomorrow to see the pics. And don't forget to eat more chicken!

A Post for Monica

This picture on my desktop was a surprise when I opened my computer at work Monday morning. My initial reaction was a huge smile and then I realized why Lucy and Ethel looked so glum. I looked over at the empty desk sitting next to me and remembered that it didn't belong to my Lucy anymore.

My friend and co-worker Monica, moved to Texas this weekend. Even though I'm super excited for her and the adventure she has set out on, I'm really sad to loose an awesome office mate and an even better friend.

I have been truly blessed to get to share an office with Monica for the past year. We have had some great times, planning our first Grand Opening and blitz, keeping each other sane during chaotic times and laughing so hard our stomachs hurt. With all our schemes and giggles, we were dubbed the names Lucy and Ethel. Or maybe we gave ourselves those names? I can't remember.

What a great experience working with her has been. She is one of the most loving, generous people I know, with the most contagious laugh. People came out of the wood work to tell her goodbye when they heard she was moving. That's how much people love her. She even gave me a bouquet of flowers on her last day. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

Monica, it has been my pleasure working with you this last year and I am proud to call you my friend. I hope you find someone to laugh with out there somewhere in the heart of Texas but, know that you will be missed her in the 505. - Your friend, Katie (a.k.a Ethel)
