1) You read all five of the funny texting conversations you had going on all at once to me.
2) Sometimes, I try really hard to be as witty as you in texts, emails and such but it's never funny
3) You've been doing the bath/bedtime routine with Addy when you get home early. It's sweet to hear you two playing together
4) You've been working really, really hard so that you can relax on vacation
5) You also work really hard so that Addy and I can spend our days together and we really appreciate that!
P.S. I love you :)

The Girl, She's a Changing
Over the past few weeks, it seems that Addy has been changing at rapid speed. I keep telling myself that I need to document it, that I need to write down all the new, silly things she does everyday but it's just happening too fast.
Last week, she got her very first big girl haircut at Jungle Cuts (photos to come!) and we replaced her infant carrier with a big girl car seat that faces forward. I guess there's really no stopping her from growing up now!
It's crazy how life with a toddler can change from one week to the next. It was just a few weeks ago that she only had two teeth on the bottom and had to gum her food. Now she has two molars up top and one on the bottom. She just chomps away at her food now.
Sometimes I'm amazed by how smart she is, and how quickly she picks up on things. Like chewing, I didn't sit down and deliberately teach her how to chew, but she figured it out. (I don't think I have a baby genius on my hands; chewing is really no big deal, I'm just enthralled by the way her little mind works.)
Everyday Matt comes home to hear about a new "Addy Thing." Like how she wipes her face on the kitchen towel, just like her Daddy does or how she read to her baby dolls. And I am constantly taking videos of Addy dancing, singing, and walking on her tippy toes to send to her Grandparents.
This stage is so fun and I can't get enough of this sweet little lady! So, if the blog seems to be over run by "Addy did this," and "Addy did that," over the next couple of months, it's because I am trying to cherish every little moment so I don't forget. And that's what blogs are for, right?

Five for Friday on a Monday
Check out other Friday's here.
1. You took Addy on probably the funnest Daddy/daughter outing ever
2. When talking about Addy remembering your fun outing you said: "Some things are for us and some things are for here; today was for me."
3. You also took me on a fun date on Saturday. You're so good to your girls.
4. Even after working long hours, you've still managed to sneak in a jog almost every night.
5. Last night you said that you love Addy very, very much but that I am still your best friend.
P.S. I love you :)

Easy Recycled T-Shirt Dress
I've been dying to share my latest sewing project because it is so easy and so, so cute!
I found this tutorial online, via Pinterest and after hearing my friend talk about doing it, I thought I would give it a try too. And I'm so glad I did!
This was originally meant to be a maxi dress created with an old toddler t-shirt and some fabric, but since I hate to throw out clothes, I used a white onesie and one of my old shirts. It's not really a maxi but the concept is pretty much the same.
You can find the full tutorial with pictures and detailed instructions here.
Here's what I did:
1. Take an old shirt.
This guy probably should have gone to the Goodwill a while ago but I just knew there was something awesome I could make with it.
2. Cut the shirt a little bit longer than your desired dress length.
I just used one of Addy's dresses as a guide.
Obviously, I am no expert at writing tutorials or sewing. So, if you're looking for some instructions from someone who actually measures and uses the right verbiage, go to the Simple Sinom and Co. blog.
3. Create a ruffle at the top of your material.
Don't know how to create a ruffle? Google it, because I am not the person to tell you.
4. Cut the onesie just below the arms.
5. Attach the now ruffled shirt to the onesie, right sides facing each other.
The easiest way for me to do this was to lay the shirt material on the table, right side out, then slide the onesie up through the shirt, up side down, right side out.
Note: If you are using an old shirt, be sure to line up the sides of the shirt with the sides of the onesie. I forgot to this so Addy's dresses have a random seem going down the front.
There you have it! Super easy, five steps (unless I forgot one) and it only cost me like $2.50 for the onesie. AND it only took about 15 minutes! Seriously, you could make like 5 of these in a nap time!
With the extra material from the shirt, I added a t-shirt flower for a little more flare.
Have fun!

Father's Day Weekend
Tonight, I am thankful for yet another great weekend in the 505.
We started our weekend watching some Curious George, with George of course! Who doesn't love Saturday Morning Cartoons? Addy now points at the TV says, "orge! orge!" and pats the couch where she wants to sit. She also loves Curious George books.
Matt was the ultimate DIY'er this weekend and moved/laid 6 tons of rock in our backyard! Phewy! And it wasn't exactly "cool" here this weekend. So, after Addy and I partied it up at a Birthday Party, we stopped by Blake's to get some much needed fuel for our landscaper.
Matt was back at it nice and early Sunday morning and Addy was right beside him. She's such a good helper.
Happy Father's Day!
Addy, the shoe fanatic, picked out a pair of flip flops for her Daddy.
Not only is our backyard now landscaped but Addy also has hours of entertainment in the rocks.
Addy is cutting her 3rd molar, which is absolutely no fun. She had a runny nose, fever and a pretty bad attitude most of the weekend, so in between playing with the rocks, we did a lot of snuggling. George got some snuggling action too.
My sweet family!
Hope everyone had a great Father's Day and a lovely weekend!

Addy's Five for Friday
Since we're getting ready to celebrate Father's Day is in a couple of days, I thought it would be fun to mix it up a little bit with a Five for Friday from Addy's perspective. Below are five things that, if she could talk in a coherent manner, I am sure she would say about her awesome Daddy.
1. You make me laugh harder than anyone else.
2. I'm sad when you leave in the morning but I am so thankful for how hard you work so I can stay home with Momma
3. Saturdays are my favorite because your home all day.
4. I like to give you kisses but sometimes your face is scruffy and it tickles!
5. It's fun helping you get ready in the morning, I'm learning all sorts of new things, like to how to wipe my face and brush my teeth!
Happy Father's Day Dadda,
Love Addy!

May in the 505
Again, this is a little late but if I don't post these monthly recaps, I'll forget all the little fun things that happened during the month. So, while it's still fresh in my mind, let's take a look back at the month of May in the 505.
Addy and I went on a few spontaneous adventures to the Aquarium and the library. Even though we are together all day, sometimes I like outings with just the two of us. I cherish the alone time with my little lady.
We spent Mother's Day Weekend in Las Cruces with my family. Addy learned some notes on the piano, helped Grandma get ready and enjoyed playing on their patio.
Addy and Carter got to spend a lot of time together, which is always fun.
Picnic with Sweet Carter Boy!
Learning to type at the Library
First Pony!
Fun at the Mall
This is the BEST way to shop with two toddlers. They loved it!
This girl is always reading. We keep books in the car now.
Matt and I celebrated 4 years of wedded bliss!
That's it for May! I could have sworn we did more than that, I guess we were too busy to take pictures and that's OK :)

April in the 505
I realize that in the blogging world, what we did in April has absolutely no relevance anymore and probably no one cares, but for scrapbooking purposes and because I have an awful memory, I'm posting this anyways.
Here's a (belated) look at what the Danner family was up to in April via the iphone:
Rainy Day = Great opportunity to wear rain boots and hat
Gloomy, Snowy Morning
(Those were my PJ's back in the day)
Walking Buddies// Easter Fun with Aunt M// Lunch Date with Cousin Carter// Grandma Snuggles// Lunch with Dad// Jazzercise Baby
Saturday Morning Snuggles
Playin' Birds and Helping Dad Get Some Work Done
Beautiful Blooms on our Afternoon Strolls
Pretty Little Lady
(She learned how to walk over the threshold this month!)
Movie Night on Matt's Birthday!
Next up: May in the 505!

Chewing Gum is Bad and LOL Photos
So the other day, I stepped in gum; really sticky, nasty pink gum and I didn't realize it until I put my foot in the car. There was a string of gum leading from the pavement to the floor matt of my car. Grr! I was ticked off. It wouldn't come out with a wipe and when trying to clean it up I managed to get it all over my foot. Sick! Who does that? I grumbled under my breath the whole way home until I witnessed this little interaction.
"Oh hey! You're a lover of all things New Mexican? So am I! We should be friends!
Look! Our socks match too!"
These two bikers crossed paths at the light and just as I was thinking how funny it was that they were wearing the same jersey, they realized the same thing, stopped and shook hands. It struck me as funny so I snapped a picture and tried to think of a witty caption to go with the photo and send to Matt. That was all I came up with. Matt's the witty one of the family.
That night I found this sticky note on Matt's wardrobe where he found a skirt of Addy's that I must have put there on accident.
"I swear, the next time you shrink my jeans...."
That made me laugh too.
Then, yesterday, we had concrete poured in our backyard. This provided great entertainment for Addy which was pretty entertaining for me to watch.
"Can you see me?"
"Oh!"
So what's the point of this story? Absolutely nothing except that spitting gum out in the parking lot is the tackiest, laziest, most inconsiderate, thoughtless thing to do and a good laugh might not take gum out of your floor boards but it will definitely change your mood.
The end :)
