Addy-isms Volume 2

It's getting harder and harder to keep up with the cute and funny things Addy is saying lately. "Addy-isms" have changed from silly phrases that we would often hear from her, to funny little conversations Matt and I have with her. Below are some of the most recent ones that I've managed to write down.

Did you have a good morning?
"Yes! Ya! I did! Went or Carcar's house then went store then came back!"

"I have fever on my head"

"O I know! I go get thingamiger for you.
First (with pointer finger in the air) got to get baby doll!"

She calls Fruit Snacks, "Snack Fruits" and I usually have to stop and think about what they are actually called because I've gotten used to calling them Snack Fruits.

She's started calling me "Mom," which I'm actually not OK with but have a hard time correcting her. It just seems to early to go from Momma to Mom.

"I did it all my by self!"

What did you do at Gran and Pappa's house?
"Played and played and played!!!"

"We gotta go to store get new Addy."
We need a new Addy?
"Yes! This one doesn't work! Gotta get new one."

The other day she totally referred to the baby and I as "You guys." It took me a while to figure out that the other guy in "guys" was the baby. She's a clever little thing.

Dadda and Gramps are out there working.
"They work too hard. I work too hard too."

"I be back soon, finish my work."

"Come this way corn, I want eat you."

Do you think you're going to have a baby brother or a baby sister?
"Baby brother, like Carcar."

In other Addy news, she's been taking swimming lessons at the Jewish Community Center on Sunday mornings with her Dad and she LOVES it! I tagged along to watch last Sunday and that smile never left her face, except when it was time to get out.

Matt and Addy have been quite the little twosome lately, swimming, working in the backyard and running random errands. Everyday when Matt leaves for work she either asks if she can go with him or she'll give him one of her stuffed animals to keep him company during the day.

She's started to conquer her fear of dogs and really come out of her shell when it comes to playing and interacting with her friends. She loves to go on play dates or have people over to house, even though she may not act like it at the time, she'll talk about what she did with her friends week later.

Addy still loves babies and we are looking forward to seeing her interact with our new little baby in just a few short months! We're all anxious to see if she's right and if we will bringing home a blue bundle of joy this time.

5 Years and Memorial Day Weekend

Saturday was our 5th Wedding Anniversary.

To celebrate five years as husband and wife, Matt and I both woke up at six am. This was totally unplanned and very uncommon, but also super fun. We made coffee and enjoyed breakfast on the patio, admiring the grass that Matt had laid the night before. Since the little one didn't wake up until almost nine, we were able to have a nice long uninterrupted date in the comfort of our own home.

When Addy did finally wake from her slumber, she was thrilled to play outside in her new backyard.

"I so cited have grass like Carcar!"

We've exchanged the traditional anniversary gifts every year and this year's gift was to be made out of wood. Since neither of us had time to carve up a piece of furniture, we stretched the wood perimeter a little; two bushes for Matt (the roots are made of wood right?) and a bird feeder that attracts Woodpeckers for me.

That night, we continued our anniversary celebration with "gourmet" hotdogs complete with homemade chipotle sauce on the patio. It was the perfect way to spend our special day, nothing fancy, super laid back and just our style.

The rest of the weekend was mostly spent in the backyard or at the pool.

After asking to go over to Granmarie's house for weeks, Addy finally got to show off her moves from swim lessons in Granmarie's "big pool."

She also did a little golfing,

hosted a picnic,

and played and played and played, as she would say.

Who doesn't love a three day weekend spent with family and celebrating five years of love?

How did you spend the long weekend?

Six for Saturday {Anniversary Edition}

You can go here to check out the last Five for Friday Anniversary Edition.

1. You were worried that I had a secret boyfriend when you received a text from me meant for someone else. Even in my large pregnant state, you think I could attract another man
2. I never have to guess what you're thinking or feeling. You always tell me, we always talk things out, and I'm learning that that's not all that common.
3. We've managed to do fun takes on the traditional anniversary gifts for five years, even though we might not remember what we got each other last year.
4. We both randomly woke up at 6 this morning. Coffee on the patio, admiring our new grass, while it was still cold out was better than going to a movie.
5. While laying sod last night, the song "I'm Proud of the House we Built" was stuck in your head.
6. I'm proud of the hard work we've put into our house too but even more proud of the work we've put into our relationship and our marriage.

Happy 5 Years! I love you :)

Missing Our Little Lady

I haven't seen this cute little face in three days and I'm really starting to miss it.

Miss Adelyne has been at her Grandparents' house since Monday enjoying some special time with Gran and Pappa and giving her parents a little down time.

So, you may be wondering, what does one do with almost a week to themselves? Well, I'll tell you what this momma did.

I've done some blogging and some jogging (ha! just kidding), quilting and crocheting,

Baby Pearl's quilt is coming along!

I've watched old 80's movies and enjoyed not having a schedule,

I've spent some time in the word and I've taken pictures of myself in the mirror that freak my hubby out,

I've been able to make dinner and get dressed without a little one tugging at my leg,

I've gone to Target at 9 pm with Matt because we could and

I've looked at this picture sent from parents multiple times.

But, I haven't been cleaning up baby doll stuff, fixing little girl's hair, kissing booboos, making little lunches, playing airplane up and down the hall or giving goodnight kisses and I'm really starting to miss those things. It's just a little too quiet around here. Even this morning, Matt said he expected Addy to pop out of a corner and say "You go to work today Dada?"

Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed the break, who knew you could accomplish so much in four days, and I'm thankful that Addy has wonderful grandparents (on both sides) that she loves to spend time with and who treat her like their own child. But, I'm looking forward to seeing that sweet little smile in person tomorrow.

Life in the 505 just isn't quite as fun without our little lady.

What Addy Wore {Spring Edition}

There's nothing cuter than a little girl in a cute spring dress right?

Matt and I have both been enjoying dressing Addy this spring season and we just keep finding more and more cute things!

So, I thought I'd do another "What Addy Wore" post while I still have control over what she wears and since I've got to do something with all these pictures.

You can check out what she wore last fall here.

Shirt: Target
Shorts: Kohl's (Handpicked by Matt)
Shades: Children's Place

Skirt: Handmade by Addy's Momma
Shirt: Hobby Lobby, Flowers Added by Addy's Momma

Same outfit, different hairstyle.
Bows: Target Clearance

Hat and Shades: Purchased at the Children's Place on a Daddy/Daughter outing

Shirt: Target
Skirt: Handmade by Addy's Momma

Dress: An Easter Gift from Gran

Shirt: Target
Skirt: Babies R Us (She's been wearing this skirt for a year, the girl has no butt)
Shades: Children's Place

Having a little girl sure is fun and at almost 8 months pregnant, I'm feeling a little envious of her tiny figure and all the cute things she's able to wear. Maybe someday, we'll be able to share clothes?

30 Weeks

We're less than 10 weeks away from D-day!

As of Sunday, I'm 30 weeks prego and beginning to feel like it's crunch time as far as baby projects go. 10 weeks isn't a long time when you have quilts and blankets to finish.

My symptoms this week have mostly been heartburn whenever I eat something spicy, or salty or sweet or tangy, or if I just look at food I start to get that uncomfortable feeling that's leaving me with a bad taste in my mouth all the time. Otherwise, I feel great and have been sleeping like a rock! But, even after a good night's sleep I usually wake up tired which is probably to be expected when you're carrying another human in your belly.

So here's the 30 week self portrait. My belly button has definitely "popped" and I'm starting to gain weight at rapid speeds (3 pounds in 4 days!!). I'd like to say it's all baby weight but my recent love for milkshakes might have something to do with it too.

Filled With Joy

"The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy." Psalm 126:3

Matt kept asking me this morning and last night if I had a good Mother's Day. I had a great day and a great weekend being spoiled by my sweet little family. I kept reading these words written on our chalkboard and thinking how true it is.

How could I not have a good Mother's Day?

I love being this little lady's Momma and I feel so privileged to get to do it all over again with Baby #2.

The Lord has done many many great things in my life and I am filled with joy.

In case you're new around here, or just curious. Five for Fridays are a fun way for me to love on my hubby. Every Friday I post five things that I love about him, these range from inside jokes, quotes, things he's done and anything else. I've been consistent in posting these for over a year now and I think he enjoys finding them on the blog each week.

2. "You go to work today Dada? I miss you.''
3. Addy's been concerned about the booboo you got from biking yesterday
4. You were 100% on board with hosting my bestie and her kiddo this week.
5. I'm glad you've gotten a lot of man time this week but I kind of miss your face.

April in the 505

It seemed that April was the month for battling sickness in our house. All three of us were down with something at some point and I learned that my pregnant body is awful at fighting off colds after suffering from one for two weeks. Thankfully we have two great sets of grandparents that are always wiling to help out when Momma needs some rest.

It wasn't all sneezing and coughing though, we did enjoy quite a few good days and even got to celebrate Cousin Carter and Matt's Birthdays.

Donuts for Carter's Bday // Chillin' with Baby Bear // Saturday Morning Pancakes // A Good Reminder // Matt got his golf buddy back // "I look good momma!" // Baby kisses // The book must have been thrilling // New shades for Momma

Matt did a lot of work in the back yard, planting trees and bushes with his little helper.

Yard work is dirty business

Addy went on several adventures in her thingamiger,

And enjoyed Saturday morning outings with Mom and Dad.

The last weekend of the month was spent celebrating Matt's Birthday. Addy and I made a cake for a little get together where "Dada's friend's" came over.

There goes another month! I'm praying that May treats us a little better and that all of us manage to stay healthy.

The Story of My Life

I'm taking the Blog Every Day in May challenge purely for my own amusement, because I like to write and these prompts will give me something besides toddlers and pregnancy to think about. There's no way I'll post everyday but I'm going to have fun writing when I can because soon there will be another little one who needs my attention and blogging time might be slim.
You can join in on the fun too. Click here for details.

If I were to tell you the story of my life in 250 words or less, it would go something like this:

I was raised in Southern New Mexico with my younger brother by two loving parents who did things the untraditional way so that we would have the best upbringing possible. They taught us the importance of loving each other, a good education and faith in Christ.

As a mom to a little lady who doesn't like to have her picture taken, I have a new appreciation for these family photos, even if half of my parent's heads are cut off.

In high school, I wasn’t the biggest nerd but I did spend most of my three years on the volleyball team sitting on the bench. I managed to make it through without facing some of the drama most girls go through in a small school and even made some life long friends.

College was a fun time for me, I met a lot of new people including one blue eyed boy who made me laugh and asked me to be his girlfriend on Valentine's Day. We dated through three years of college, summer projects and internships and finally tied the knot two weeks after I graduated.

After the wedding, we moved up to the big city of Albuquerque. Newly married, we had our share of heartache and stress with job loses and small apartments. But the Lord was faithful in every situation and in March of 2011, our family grew from two to three.

I had big plans to continue working full time while also being a mommy but God had other plans and now I am so thankful to call myself a Full-time Momma to one energetic two year old with another one on the way.

I’ve been so blessed and I love my life in the 505.
